Gem State CEDH
Gem State CEDH is the first “Legendary action” I took this year — and it has paid off! Coming together with leaders in the cEDH and Magic communities, our first premiere event, Spring Summoning, brought exactly 59 players from Idaho, Utah, and surrounding areas to compete for just over $1000 in prizing.
Now, we’re doing it again! On July 19, in collaboration with Gem State Gaming Convention, we’re kicking off the Summer Showdown! We will be giving away just over $1000 in prizing again, including door prizes, which include Secret Lairs, Godzilla lands, playmats, and other magical relics!
Purchase the GSGC Mystic Badge to register now, and get access to all three days of the convention and a special Mini Spellbook Secret Lair Swag Bag! Come the day before Summer Showdown, or stay for the day after, to join The Mystic & The Mage in a variety of other MTG events, such as Final Fantasy or Tarkir: Dragonstorm drafts, a Murders at Karlov Manor Murder Mystery Party, or a variety of other TCG events!
Spots are limited, and competition will be fierce — so don’t wait! Secure your entry early to be a part of Treasure Valley’s next major cEDH event!

Scoring Changes for Summer Showdown
With Summer Showdown, we are testing out a new scoring format:
Japanese God of Commander
5 Rounds - 80 Minute time limit with NO turns. The active player will finish their turn once time is called (or if 10 minutes has surpassed) and will be a draw if no one has won.
All participants start with 1000 points.
Each round, all participants will wager 7% of their total points. The winner will receive points equal to the total points lost by the losers.
Draws will mean all players lose their wager.
For 3 player pods, a 4th invisible player will be added to the wager equal to the lowest-ranked player in that same pod.
All pairings and seating order will be made randomly (you may play the same players multiple times)
Top 10 cut with 35-64 players, top 16 cut with 65+ players.
Seating at the top cut will go by final record.
